CẤU TẠO Cấu tạo danh ñộng từ hoàn toàn giống như ñộng tính từ hiện tại. Danh ñộng từ có những dạng ghép, ví dụ (ñộng từ to do): Dạng chung :doing Thụ ñộng :being done Hoàn thành :having done Hoàn thành thụ ñộng :having been done B. CÁCH DÙNG CƠ BẢN 1. Trường hợp dùng ñộng từ nguyên thể không có “to” Trong trường hợp làm bổ ngữ của tân ngữ (cách dùng 5 ở trên) thì sau các ñộng từ let, make và các ñộng từ chỉ cảm giác như see, hear, feel v.v… Ex: I heard her play the piano They made me laugh. - Riêng với ñộng từ to help dùng cả hai cách. (Người Anh hay dùng có “to”, người Mỹ dùng “không có to”). Ex: Will you help me (to) clean the house? - Nhưng khi chuyển sang lối bị ñộng, thì tất cả các câu trên ñều phải dùng ñộng từ nguyên thể có “to”: Ex: He was heard to cry. They had been made to work.
