PART 7: READING COMPREHENSION Phần 1: Chiến lược đọc nhanh Ở Part 7, kỹ năng đọc nhanh rất quan trọng; tuy nhiên, việc vừa đọc nhanh để tìm những nội dung trọng tâm được yêu cầu trong câu hỏi, vừa bố trí thời gian một cách hợp lý lại càng quan trọng hơn. Vậy trước tiên, cô trò mình cùng tìm hiểu phương pháp ĐỌC NHANH như thế nào cho thực sự hiệu quả để vừa vẫn hiểu rõ đoạn văn vừa vẫn trả lời được câu hỏi dưới áp lực thời gian nhé! Chiến lược 1: Ngắt riêng cụm từ bổ nghĩa ra để đọc Danh từ chính là linh hồn của một câu. Tuy nhiên nếu chỉ biết Danh từ đơn lẻ như “Football is my favorite sport” thì chắc cô trò mình ai cũng đạt được 990/990 Toeic các em nhỉ ^^ Vì danh từ sẽ xuất hiện rất nhiều dạng (dưới dạng Noun phrase – cụm danh từ) hoặc được bổ nghĩa bởi các cụm giới từ; cụm phân từ hay mệnh đề quan hệ bổ sung danh từ...). Những cụm bổ nghĩa đó sẽ gây nhiều khó khăn cho việc đọc hiểu. Vì vậy, trong các trường hợp như vậy, chúng ta sẽ nhận biết các yếu tố khác nhau cùng bổ nghĩa cho danh từ, rồi ngắt riêng chúng ra thì các em sẽ đọc hiểu hiệu quả hơn rất nhiều. Ví dụ, thay vì hiểu câu ‘my passion for English’ theo từng từ riêng biệt my/ passion/ for/ English/’, các em nên chia riêng các cụm bổ nghĩa thành my passion/ [for English], các em sẽ có thể nâng cao hiệu quả đọc hiểu NHANH của bản thân. Nếu theo sau danh từ là cụm từ bắt đầu bằng giới từ, phân từ, to-infinitive, từ quan hệ, các em nên ngắt riêng các cụm từ này ra để đọc. Cho dù cụm danh từ có thể rất dài nhưng chúng đều có cấu tạo cơ bản như sau. 1. Article or Determiner or Adjective or Possesive + NOUN+ Preposition A/an/the/one/another/all .... Việc xác định “key word” trong câu hỏi và tìm “key word” đó trong bài đọc là không dễ dàng vì bài đọc sẽ không giữ nguyên mà sẽ sử dụng cụm từ khác thay thế nhưng nghĩa vẫn giữ nguyên. Với câu hỏi thông tin tổng quát, thường đáp án sẽ nằm ở những dòng đầu tiên của đoạn văn hoặc dòng cuối cùng của đoạn văn đầu tiên. Tuy nhiên, thỉnh thoảng đề thi sẽ bẫy các em nên câu ‘topic sentence’ có thể không nằm ở đầu đoạn, mà ở cuối đoạn nên các em phải đọc hết đoạn văn mới có thể hiểu được mục đích của bài. Câu hỏi về chủ đề hoặc mục đích What is the purpose [main idea] of ~? What is the email about? Why is this email made/written? Các bước trả lời: 1. 2. Vừa tập trung đọc phần đầu của bài đọc, vừa nắm bắt nội dung tổng thể. Đọc câu hỏi và các lựa chọn trả lòi, tìm lựa chọn có nội dung giống vói nội dung trong bài đọc. 3. Nếu các em phân vân không tìm được lựa chọn trả lời đúng cho câu hỏi, hãy trả lời hết các câu hỏi khác, rồi quay lại câu hỏi này sau khi đọc hiểu xong toàn bộ bài đọc. Cùng làm 2 ví dụ dưới đây nhé! Câu hỏi từ vựng (vocabulary question) ~ is closest in meaning to Câu hỏi này yêu cầu các em tìm từ đồng nghĩa thích hợp được cho ở các lựa chọn trả lời vói một từ / cụm từ nào đó trong bài đọc. Các em lưu ý là có nhiều trường hợp các em phải suy luận nghĩa của từ/cụm từ dược hỏi dựa vào ngữ cảnh của bài đọc thì mới có thể tìm ra được lựa chọn trả lời đúng. Tìm nhanh câu tương ứng trong bài đọc. Đọc toàn bộ câu chứa từ/cụm từ được hỏi, đối chiếu với các lựa chọn trả lời để tìm ra lựa chọn đúng nhất. 3.
