Teaching steps:Time: 40’-45’ Teacher’s activities Sts’ activities Warmer: Get sts to do a TPR (total physical response) activity with commands such as: put up your hand, put down your hands, …. I. New lesson 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Ask students to open their Student’s Book on P27. Tell them to look at the title of the unit and the pcs. Elicit their answers to identify the ppl in the pic: Who is this? Who’s this boy/ girl? New words: Have/ has classes Morning exercise Gym - Listen and repeat the new words (x3) - Call some sts to read aloud - Read each exchange in the pics, stop at times to check sts’ comprehension. - Make sure that the sts can understand the situation and language in each pic. Playing the recording twice, once for all through and once for repeat. - Devide class into two groups to take turns to say the lines from Linda, Phong and Mai. 2. Point, ask and answer: - Ask sts to open their Student’s Book on P27. - Get sts to read the example and set up the context: Imagine you are Linda. You are asking your partner about these characters’ daily activities from Pic a to Pic e. - Read the lines in the speech bubbles and elicit sts’prompts to complete these lines. 18 Play game Look, listen and repeat Write down the new words Read aloud Look at the pictures, and answer the questions. Work in group - Write the question and answer on the board and get Sts to repeat them a few times. - Model the task with the whole class. Point to the pic a and ask. Call on a few open pairs to go through the rest of the pics - Model sentence: A: What does she/ he often do in the morning? B: She/ He________________ - Ask sts to practice in pairs. - Call some sts to practice in front of class 3. Listen and tick - Ask sts to open their Student’s Book on P28. Tell them the listening purpose: You are going to hear Mary, an Australian girl, talking about her daily activities. You should read each sentence in your book, listen and tick the appropriate pic for what Mary does. Point to each pic and ask sts to identify them. - Have Sts to repeat each pic - Play the recording twice. - Replay the recording to check. Get them to correct their answers in pairs. Ask Sts to report the answers to the class, if there is disagreement on any answer, play the tape related to the part again. - Check the answer 1. b 2. a 3. b 4. c 4. Talk - Get Sts to read the instruction and look at the picture. Make sure they understand the task. Point to each pics and elicit Sts’ answers. - Pair work: Sts take turn to ask and answer Qs, using pics in this section - Call some sts to practice in front of class. IV.
