of restaurant- a wide variety of meat and vegetables that you can add to the hot pot
mix. Our favourites are beef, pork, sweet potato and lotus root. Of course, ther are
several sauces that you can dip your food into it too. The food is reasonably priced

When I was at secondary school, I really enjoyed woodwork. I know that some people
might not consider it to be a proper school subject, but when I was at secondary
school all students had to take a prctical subject. I studied this subect for 5 years. I
was not very goo at it, but I made some items that I still have at home – a small
bookcase, for Sample. The woodwork teacher taught this subject by introduing us to
some of the techniques used to make things and then telling us to prctice on spare
pieces of wood. When we had developed our skills a little, the teachers would tell us
to make a given object or part of an object. In my final examiation, I got grade C
which was a satisfctory pass. I think that this subject has been a little bit useful in my
life. I have used some of the skills to make small items for my home and to repair
others.

A special meal that I ate recently was a buffet meal at a wedding. The wedding was in
California and, as the weather was so nice, the buffet was outside. I think a buffet is a
good idea, since people can eat as much as they want and choose to eat what they
want rather than have to eat what they era given. It also gives people the opportunity
to switch tables and so meet and talk to more people. We had a side variety of
delicious food to choose from. There was a very large selection of beef, chicken and
lamb dishes. Ther were some lovely desserts, such as tiramisu, apple crumble and
chocolate mousse. I love it!
Topic 7
My hobby is atamp collecting= philately. I have been collecting stamps since I was a
kid. My father and grandfather also collected them, so I inherited a massive collection
of stamps from all over the world. I ave added to this collection bu buying stamps
from the countries that I visit and by uying more online when I see some good offers.
Most of my stamps are from Britain, but I also have more than a thousand each from
counties like USA, Australia and India. I will certainly continue with stamp
collecting. I find many stamps are very beatiful and unusual. I especially like to
collect stamps from small countries or stamps that commemorate particular events,
like royal wedding or the moon landings. I do not think this hobby has much effort on
other aspects of my life. It is something that I can do in private when I have time.

A teacher who has influenced me is my university professor, professor Smith. She is a
lovely lady who is an expert in her field and I was very happy that she agreed to
superise my study. She has helped me to gain a better understanding of my subject
and she has also introduced me to various books and articles that have helped me. She
understnads the learning process very well and has given plenty of tips on how t
improve my study skills. She heavily influenced my choice of subject for my thesis,
which will almost certainly influence the future of my studies. I am sure that she has
